AUBURN – Twenty City of Bellevue representatives, including councilmembers Janice Zahn and Conrad Lee, attended the "Advancing Racial Equity" conference Dec. 14 at Green River College. The Bellevue contingent included the Diversity Advantage team from the City Manager's Office and staff from Community Development, the City Attorney's Office, Human Resources, Parks & Community Services, Transportation and Utilities.
Staff from Bellevue served on the conference steering committee and participated on two panels: "Innovative Approaches to Increasing Workplace Racial and Ethnic Diversity" and "Creating Opportunities for Youth."
The conference, at Green River Community College, was hosted by Governing for Regional Equity, a collaborative government group, and cosponsored by the Sound Cities Association, King County, local cities and the Port of Seattle.
