The City of Bellevue will welcome Beijing's popular Tech Hive by hosting its first-ever stop in the United States. The 48-hour event will feature a dozen participants, including two entrepreneurs from China, who will go from idea to demo of their product and present them to a panel of distinguished judges.
"We're very excited to be hosting Tech Hive's first visit to the United States," said Councilmember Conrad Lee. "As a city we are committed to encouraging a creative and entrepreneurial environment, where businesses, startups and entrepreneurs can thrive. This great event demonstrates the City of Bellevue's growing reputation as an international business hub and gateway to China."

Beijing Tech Hive is one of the longest running and best known startup competitions in China. Since 2010 more than 50 teams of entrepreneurs have participated in the events, with a several receiving funding from top venture capital funds such as Blue Run Ventures, China Broadband, GSR Ventures and others.

"The Tech Hive events highlight the best of what young tech entrepreneurs have to offer. Teams will also have the ability to network, develop their ideas, consult with well-respected industry coaches, and connect with active and successful investors."
Bellevue Tech Hive will conclude with participants attending the Boao Forum for Asia conference, which is being held in Seattle after Tech Hive. The invitation-only event is expected to draw hundreds of CEOs, government leaders, technology experts, media managers and others to discuss energy, resources and sustainable development. Speakers will include former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, Bill Gates, and Gary Locke, former U.S. Ambassador to China.
