City to offer free coaching and grant writing assistance
The City of Bellevue is launching a new $1.8 million grant program designed to help local nonprofits acquire, build and maintain art and cultural facilities. The program underscores Bellevue’s commitment to fostering and showcasing the city’s vibrant arts and culture scene.
“Time and again we hear from our community and nonprofit partners that lack of space is a major barrier to delivering important art and cultural experiences in Bellevue,” said Mayor Lynne Robinson. “This grant opportunity helps ensure Bellevue’s creative community has the facilities they need to deliver meaningful and accessible arts and culture programming to our residents, workforce and visitors.”
The deadline for applications is Friday, Aug. 19. To help applicants deliver successful proposals, the city is offering comprehensive application support through one-on-one assistance from a professional grant writing team. For application guidelines or to schedule a consultation with the grant assistance team, please visit Arts Grants or contact Manette Stamm, mstamm@bellevuewa.gov.
The free grant writing assistance will also be offered to Bellevue-based organizations applying for King County's Doors Open Facility Program.
Grants are for nonprofit organizations based in Bellevue seeking funding for the acquisition, construction or maintenance of art and cultural facilities, including capitalized equipment. Eligible projects include those scheduled from 2025 to 2026, as well as those from 2023 and 2024.
A community panel will review applications, with awards recommended by the Arts Commission and approved by the City Council. The grant program will reopen in two years, offering future opportunities for additional funding and support.
