To help an influx of boaters anticipated for Seafair weekend, Aug. 4, 5 and 6, Bellevue Parks & Community Services will offer additional parking and a free shuttle for the Southeast 40th Street Boat Launch.
Parks staff will provide assistance at the boat launch — located at 118th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 40th Street — Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Police staff will also be present to assure orderly launching and loading of boats.
Free, overflow parking will be available at Newport High School, 4333 Factoria Blvd. The shuttle service will be available to and from the lot 9 a.m.-9 p.m., all three days.
Launching fees and hours
- Launching fees are $16 without a season pass.
- To accommodate incoming boats, boat launching will not be permitted after 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Safety reminders
- Children age 12 and under must wear personal flotation devices while on boats (child life vest law summary).
- All boats should have personal flotation devices for everyone aboard (PFD law).
- It is illegal to consume alcoholic beverages while operating watercraft.
