On Nov. 12, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the city of Bellevue will honor the 2015 graduating class of 34 emerging leaders from the civic engagement program, Bellevue Essentials. The public ceremony will take place at City Hall and will feature keynote speaker Congressman Adam Smith. Mayor Claudia Balducci and City Manager Brad Miyake will present certificates to graduates.
The city created Bellevue Essentials to provide an entry point for community leaders, allowing them to explore the “nuts and bolts†of municipal government. The nine-week program highlights topics such as public process, transportation, economic development, human services, utilities, public safety and finance.
The ceremony will be followed by a free dessert reception, offering interested residents an opportunity to network and learn more about the Bellevue Essentials program. Next year’s classes are scheduled to begin in September, with the application process beginning in May.
To RSVP for the graduation or to request more information on future participation in Bellevue Essentials, please contact Julie Ellenhorn at 425-452-5372 or jellenhorn@bellevuewa.gov.
