Last Saturday, the Bellevue Police Department collected 323 pounds of controlled, non-controlled and over the counter medications, no questions asked.
The successful event was a partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration as part of the nationwide prescription drug "Take-Back" initiative.
Bellevue Police staffed three locations in Bellevue and collected nine boxes of unwanted medications. A second Take-Back Drug day will be in October. In 2013 a total of 488.6 pounds were collected.
