Completing a gradual transition over several years from paper permit applications, Development Services will start processing all permits electronically starting Friday, Sept. 6.
Building, fire, utilities and other construction permits switched to exclusively online in March. Land use and shoreline permits, the last to be applied for via paper as well as electronically, will go exclusively online on Sept. 6.
In 2011, the City of Bellevue launched paperless permitting to save customers money and time. The number of permits processed electronically has been steadily rising since, from 36 percent in 2011 to 84 percent last year.
Using the regional portal MyBuildingPermit.com, customers can:
- apply and pay for permits;
- request and cancel inspections;
- check permit status and history; and
- find construction tip sheets and inspection checklists.
Customers who want assistance using online permitting can view user guides on the MyBuildingPermit Help page. In-person assistance is available at the permit center in City Hall.
