The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is looking at options for completing the eastside of the interchange at SR 520 and 124th Avenue NE in Bellevue. The goal is to provide westbound 520 drivers an option to access downtown Bellevue and the BelRed neighborhood, provide freeway access for eastbound 520 drivers, and to help reduce congestion at the I-405/SR 520 interchange. WSDOT plans to build a new on-ramp to eastbound SR 520 and a new off-ramp from westbound SR 520 to 124th Avenue NE. They also plan to improve fish passage at Goff Creek. This project is part of the I-405/SR 167 Corridor Program.
This project is currently in the preliminary engineering stage; there is no funding for construction at this time. A design-build contract will be developed at a future date when the State Legislature assigns construction funding.
