The Bellevue Youth Theatre provides inclusive recreational programs for youth ages 5-19, with the focus on teen participants. Persons with disabilities, families and older adults are encouraged to participate. The emphasis of the theatre is to build self-esteem, teamwork and confidence in youth while performing in a supportive environment. Children 11 and younger, and first-time participants, may have limited roles. For more information, please call 425-452-7155.

Attend an audition and complete the paperwork. Once you’ve completed the audition, you’re cast! Please pay special attention to the no conflicts dates before you commit to a show’s process.

Auditions

Limited registration for participants 11 and under (30 per show), pre-registration required. Registration opens March 4 (Bellevue residents) and March 11 (non-Bellevue residents). 

  • Dates: June 3 and 4, from 5-6:30 p.m. at BYT.*
  • Register online (Only ages 5-11 require pre-registration. Ages 12+ can show up to the audition)

Treasure Island

Find out what happens when Jim Hawkins discovers a map and sets out to find Captain Flint’s famous buried treasure! Along the way, we’ll meet a band of mutinous buccaneers, magical mermaids, and the most famous pirate of all – Long John Silver! Avast ye land lubbers! Adventure awaits on the seven seas! Will you be answerin’ the call?

Casts

We will have two casts of Treasure Island. 

Jewel Cast 

  • Rehearsal time: 4-6 p.m.
  • Tech Week: July 29-August 1
  • Performances: August 2-4
  • NO CONFLICTS July 29-August 4

Gold Cast 

  • Rehearsal time: 6-8 p.m.
  • Tech Week: August 5-8
  • Performances: August 9-11
  • NO CONFLICTS August 5-11

Rehearsals & Performances

  • Dates: Rehearsals will begin Monday, June 24. Rehearsals will be held M-F.
  • Location: All rehearsals and performances will take place at the Bellevue Youth Theatre.
  • Time Commitment: Each person will likely be called 3-5 times per week. You will receive a rehearsal calendar on June 24 with your scheduled dates. We will not know your parts or your schedule prior to that day.

*Everyone must attend an audition to be cast in our play. Even the 11 and under who have pre-registered must attend one of the audition dates.

Fees for our mainstage plays:
Residents - Free
Non-residents - $150

Refunds (for non-Bellevue residents):

  • If you withdraw seven calendar days prior to the start of class (first meeting), you will receive a $140 refund.
  • If you withdraw one to six days prior to the start of class (first meeting), your refund will be $75.
  • If you withdraw on or after the first class (first meeting), you will not receive a refund.
  • NOTE: The withdrawal must be processed. Voicemail and email requests do not constitute "being processed." You must speak to someone live to consider you or your child withdrawn. If you are calling on the weekend, you may call Bellevue Parks & Community Services' main line at 425-452-6885 and press 1 to be transferred to someone live.
  • In addition, you will not be refunded if you don't like your part or feel you don't have enough lines.
