New Construction and Tenant Improvement Inspections
The Fire Prevention division provides permitting, plan review and inspection services to ensure that buildings and systems are constructed in accordance with the International Fire Code. Permits are required for a range of construction activities, including addition, redesign, relocation and alteration or removal of:
- Fire alarm systems
- Fire sprinkler systems
- Fixed fire suppression systems (including hood and duct systems and FM 200-type systems)
Inspections
A field inspection will be conducted on your project once review has been completed and approved. To schedule an inspection, you can use the city's interactive voice response telephone answering system, which is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or visit MyBuildingPermit
Your inspector will determine omissions and necessary corrections. Compliance is expected within the time frame agreed upon by you and your inspector.
