The city will be gathering feedback from businesses over the next several months and anticipates bringing a refined proposal back to the City Council for action later this year.

The City of Bellevue currently administers a business license that is one-time perpetual license (no renewal required).  The current fee is $119.00.  The one-time license limits communication and engagement with various city departments that require updated business information for outreach and support for businesses operating in the city.

The city is adopting an annual license renewal requirement to: maintain a more accurate database of active businesses operating in the city, support communication and engagement with the business community, and enhance municipal services.  The proposal also includes a tiered fee structure based on a company’s total annual gross receipts to provide equity for smaller businesses.

For businesses not subject to the license fee, they are still required to complete the license form as informational only. No license fee or processing fee will be charged.

The proposed tiers and fees are:

Tiered Fee Structure Based on Total Annual Gross Receipts
Annual Gross ReceiptsFee
$0 - $50,000$0
$50,001 - $250,000$50
$250,001 - $1,000,000$150
> $1,000,000$350
