Is It a Zoo or Is It a Garden? Tales of Zoological Horticulture (BBG Society Lecture)
Online Class
Presented by Bryon Jones. If you thought bunnies, deer, and squirrels were a challenge in your garden, be ready to laugh at some stories of how gardening with primates, wolves, and other animals takes it to a whole new level! Bryon Jones is a horticulturist, arborist, and landscape designer at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma. His passion for how plants interconnect with people, animals, and almost everything in life becomes apparent if you participate in one of his scheduled tours at the zoo. Bryon seeks to understand the details of what makes specific plants work in the animal’s natural habit, then translates that into growing them successfully in our own personal gardens.
