Garden Lecture: Botanical Gardens - Cultivating a Culture of Discovery
Bellevue Botanical Garden, 12001 Main Street
Tim Johnson, Director of the Botanic Garden of Smith College, will focus on the important role botany historically played in women’s access to science education at the 144-year-old women’s college, and how the garden is reframing what it means to provide equitable access today. A question-and-answer session will follow to discuss the social role of botanical gardens and their potential contributions to diversity and inclusion efforts. Presented by the City of Bellevue and the Botanic Garden of Smith College.
