A bout of winter weather is forecast for Bellevue this week, with high winds and scattered showers through mid-week. The temperature will drop Thursday evening, and icy streets and snow could make traveling even trickier through the weekend.
High Winds Tuesday
Gusts up to 50 mph augmented rain through Tuesday night. Trace amounts of snow are possible Wednesday night in the hills.
Potential impacts include localized tree damage and power outages. People driving, walking and rolling should travel with extra caution. To report downed trees or other hazards in the roadway, call the Operations and Maintenance Support Line at 425-452-7840.
Call Puget Sound Energy at 1-888-225-5773 to report a power outage; you can also report it online and check PSE's outage map. Power to most customers had been restored by Wednesday morning.
Temperatures dropping Thursday
Weather forecasters say temperatures are likely to drop into the 20s Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The highs over the weekend are expected to remain below freezing. Travelers should be wary of ice.
Snow in Bellevue’s hills and even the lowlands is possible.
Those in need of emergency shelter in freezing weather can consult Shelters and Safe Parking. The King County Regional Housing Authority also maintains a Severe Weather Response page that has general cold weather resources, including hours for community centers that can be used as warming spaces.
