On Friday, October 24, expect temporary road closures to accommodate Bellevue High School's annual homecoming parade.
As in years past, the parade will depart from Downtown Park, travel west along Northeast First Street and turn south down 100th Avenue Northeast. It will then turn and continue east on Main Street, crossing Bellevue Way and turning south on 105th Avenue Northeast. It will then move along Wolverine Way toward the high school.
This year, however, the parade will start a half-hour earlier, occurring between 5:30 and 6 p.m., Friday evening. Traffic will be held on 100th Avenue Northeast and Main Street to allow the parade to reach Main Street. Once the parade is heading east on Main, westbound traffic will be permitted. Traffic on Bellevue Way will be stopped for approximately 15 minutes to allow the parade to cross. Expect long delays in this area, and use alternate routes as needed.
Officers will be present to assist with traffic control and to make sure the event moves forward safely. The timing of these closures coincides with regular evening commuting hours, so your planning and patience are appreciated.
