A second round of city-hosted open house/focus group discussions concerning the Downtown Livability initiative has been rescheduled. The new dates are Tuesday, July 9, 5-7 p.m. and Wednesday, July 10, 8-10 a.m., in room 1E-108 at City Hall. There will be a formal presentation at 5:30 on July 9 and at 8:30 on July 10, followed by facilitated small group discussions.
The project's citizen advisory committee is seeking community input on draft audit reports prepared on the results of existing land use code, which convey how it is working to guide downtown development on the ground, including what is working well, where there is room for improvement or new opportunities.
Focus groups will review audit results for downtown design; including building form and height, amenities, design guidelines, pedestrian corridor and open spaces and vision for the OLB (along I-405) district. In addition, downtown connectivity; including light rail interface, parking and the transportation plan update will be discussed. Other items such as vacant building sites, mechanical equipment, recycling and solid waste, vendor carts and permitted uses are also included in the audit results.
Please RSVP for focus groups to Julie Ellenhorn at jellenhorn@bellevuewa.gov or 425-452-5372. Project information may be reviewed at Downtown Livability.
Outreach will be on-going throughout this project and the public is encouraged to visit the downtown livability website for updates on public engagement opportunities throughout 2013.
