Up to 100 volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in a meaningful day of service by removing invasive weeds and planting native trees and shrubs at Wilburton Hill Park on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, Jan. 19), 9 a.m.-noon. Learn more and register with EarthCorps.
At 105.5 acres, Wilburton Hill Park encompasses a wide variety of recreational opportunities. The park’s trail is a major link in the Lake to Lake Trail, and its forest is a crucial part of the healthy ecosystems in the heart of Bellevue. The trees and shrubs planted on MLK Day will supplement the forest’s understory.
The annual family-friendly park restoration event symbolizes the service component of MLK Day. A maximum of 100 volunteers can register for the event. The City of Bellevue and EarthCorps will provide gloves and tools. Wilburton Hill Park is located at 12400 Main St.
