Rejoice, farm lovers! The 34th annual Kelsey Creek Farm Fair will return with barnyard animals, pumpkins and a scarecrow maze on Saturday, Oct. 1, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., 410 130th Pl. S.E.
Free activities include live entertainment by Cowboy Buck and Rockin' Horse Dance Barn; heritage demonstrations by the Eastside Heritage Center; and a scarecrow maze. Low cost activities include a pumpkin patch and decorating; inflatables; a mobile petting zoo; and wagon rides.
Free shuttles will run to Kelsey Creek from Bannerwood Sports Park, 1630 132nd Ave. S.E. and the Wilburton Park and Ride, 720 114th Ave. S.E. The last shuttle will leave the farm at 4:15 p.m.
Kelsey Creek's farm origins go back nearly 100 years, when a local family started a dairy farm on the current site of Kelsey Creek in 1921. The city of Bellevue purchased the land for the park in 1968, and Kelsey Creek Farm opened four years later.
Each year, approximately 5,000 visitors attend the farm fair, which started in 1982 as an old-fashioned holiday arts fair with 200 guests.
