During its third Inclusive Innovation Forum, the City of Bellevue will launch a Civic Innovation Challenge. This inaugural challenge seeks to engage innovative partners from across the region to collaborate on civic technology solutions.
The forum will be Wednesday, June 4, 6-8 p.m. at City Hall, bringing together local government, businesses, nonprofits and community members to spark increased innovation across government services and the community.
Nadia Hansen, a global public-sector leader at Salesforce, will deliver a keynote addressing the importance of inclusive innovation, reimagining digital government and fueling innovation ecosystems with startups, small businesses and civic tech.
For the Innovation Challenge, the city seeks design partnerships to address civic challenges and city priorities. Recipients will receive:
- professional coaching and mentoring from seasoned entrepreneurs, advisors and investors
- time and resource commitments from the city to build out their ideas
- a stipend
- the opportunity to showcase their solution in front of a civic tech audience.
This inaugural Civic Tech Challenge is generously supported by Bellevue Downtown Association, Microsoft, Slalom and T-Mobile.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to volunteer to support the Innovation Forums work with digital equity, policy and priorities and building robust innovation ecosystems. The volunteer teams will highlight their work plans, opportunities to support the work and successes to date.
The City of Bellevue is dedicated to fostering a sustainable culture of innovation and ensuring community engagement in the process. The Innovation Forum is a key step in achieving this vision, bringing together diverse stakeholders to collaborate on innovative solutions that enhance city services and improve the quality of life for all residents.
