The Bellevue Office of Emergency Management is offering a fall Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) course on Monday evenings, October 6 to November 17, 6-9 p.m., and the morning of Saturday, November 22, 9 a.m.-noon.
The eight-week course, developed by FEMA, will provide citizens with the skills to keep their families and neighborhoods safe after a disaster. Classes will cover, but are not limited to:
- Fire and utility safety;
- Disaster medical operations;
- Light search and rescue; and
- Disaster psychology.
Residents are encouraged to participate. This course will give individuals the chance to network with survival-minded peers, gain valuable safety skills and learn about what they can do to keep Bellevue safe after a disaster.
