Living through a pandemic challenges communication skills and personal connections. The art of listening can increase interpersonal success during these periods of historic societal and behavioral change and at any time. The Bellevue Conflict Resolution Center will share valuable conscious listening skills through “Art of Listening” virtual workshops taking place this spring in partnership with the King County Library System.
The workshops are free, with participants learning how to be more artful, peaceful and attentive listeners during the four-week series. The two-hour sessions run Tuesday evenings 6:30-8:30 p.m. on March 23, March 30, April 6 and April 13. Participants are asked to attend all four sessions to complete the workshop. More information is available in the event flyer.
“In this workshop we’ll learn how to focus and be present while another is talking, to address our listening habits that block effective communication, and learn ways to validate, understand, and connect with others,” said Marci McReynolds, manager of the Conflict Resolution Center and facilitator for the workshop.
