More than 800 people who live or work in Bellevue participated in "Bike Month," the regional promotion of bike commuting, last year. This May, "Bike Month in Bellevue" events are sponsored by the City of Bellevue, King County Metro, Sound Transit, the Cascade Bicycle Club and the Bellevue Downtown Association.
Bike Month Challenge presented by Adobe
Bellevue riders join the regional event, commuting by bike as much as possible during May in this fun contest organized by the Cascade Bicycle Club. Register as a solo rider or register a team.
Intro to Urban Cycling class, Wednesday, April 29, noon-1 p.m.
The Cascade Bicycle Club presents the basics of urban cycling: clothing, gear, rules of the road, bike parking, etc., at City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE. Pizza will be provided. Please RSVP by emailing info@onthemovebellevue.org.
Bike to School Day, Wednesday, May 6
Join hundreds of riders in the Seattle area and thousands of other riders across the country on National Bike to School Day. Student groups are organizing Bike to School Day events at Interlake and Newport high schools.
Bike to Your Vanpool Day, Friday, May 8
Ride your bike to meet your van and lock it up at your meeting place or take it with you. Call your vanpool provider for details on how to get a bike rack for your vanpool. Post a photo and tag @ChooseUrWayBell with #Bike2Van to be entered to win one of two Gregg's Cycles gift cards.
Bike to Farmers Market Day, Thursday, May 14, 3-7 p.m.
Choose Your Way Bellevue will provide a water station, bike racks and free tote bags for people who choose to bike to the first day of the season for the Bellevue Farmers Market (Bellevue Presbyterian Church, 1717 Bellevue Way NE).
National Bike to Work Day, Friday, May 15, 6-9 a.m.
Downtown riders can get free coffee, bike swag and light breakfast supplied by Starbucks and Whole Foods at the Choose Your Way Bellevue bike commuter station at the Bellevue Transit Center. Gregg's Cycles will offer minor tune-ups and there will be a photo booth at the downtown station. Cycle The Wave and the Montlake Bike Shop will sponsor a station at I-90/Enatai. Cascade offers information about all area Bike to Work Day commute stations.
