The Bellevue Youth Theatre is an inclusive recreational program for ages 5-19, with the focus on teen participants. Persons with disabilities, families and older adults are allowed to participate. The emphasis of the theatre is to build self-esteem, teamwork and confidence in youth while performing in a supportive environment. Children 11 and younger, and first-time participants, may have limited roles. For more information, please call 425-452-7155.

Summer Auditions

Monday, June 3 and Tuesday, June 4:
Bellevue Youth Theatre, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for:

  • "Pippi and the Wayward Pirates"

Step 1: READ

Step 2: REGISTER for one cast ONLY (do not register for more than one cast). There is limited space available for each cast, and registration closes on Monday, June 3.

Step 3: FILL OUT paperwork.

Participant Information - Ages 5-10
Rehearsal Commitment and Bio Form
Background Check (parents only - mandatory for parents of 7 and younger; optional for parents of ages 8 and older who may wish to go backstage)

Step 4. ATTEND mandatory parent orientation on Thursday, June 13 at 5 p.m.

Step 5. ATTEND first meeting on Monday, June 24 at 5 p.m.

PARENTS OF ACTORS AGES 7 AND YOUNGER ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND; ALL PARENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.

Step 3: ATTEND one of the audition dates. NOTE - you do not need to make an appointment to audition. Just show up with your completed paperwork.

PARENTS OF ACTORS 7 AND YOUNGER ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND ALL REHEARSALS.

All parents are strongly encouraged to attend the first meeting.

PIPPI AND THE WAYWARD PIRATES
This show has great parts for all ages, with new songs and parts that do not require singing. This play has dancing and all kinds of theatre fun.

  • BLUE CAST
    • Blue Cast is FULL for 5-10 year olds for course 1902400.
    • Rehearsal location: Bellevue Youth Theatre
    • First meeting: Monday, June 24
      5 p.m. for actors ages 5-10
      6 p.m. for actors ages 11 and older
    • Rehearsals begin: Tuesday, June 25 at 6 p.m.
    • Rehearsal time: Monday through Friday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
    • Tech Week: The week beginning July 29 at Bellevue Youth Theatre - NO CONFLICTS
    • Performs: August 2-4 - NO CONFLICTS

  • RED CAST
    • Register for course 1902401 if you are 5-10 (25 spots available).
    • Rehearsal location: Bellevue Youth Theatre
    • First meeting: Monday, June 24
      5 p.m. for actors ages 5-10
      6 p.m. for actors ages 11 and older
    • Rehearsals begin: Tuesday, June 25 at 5 p.m.
    • Rehearsal time: Monday through Friday, 5-7 p.m.
    • Tech Week: The week beginning August 5 at Bellevue Youth Theatre - NO CONFLICTS
    • Performs: August 9-11 - NO CONFLICTS
  • WHITE CAST
    • Register for course 1902402 if you are 5-10 (25 spots available).
    • Rehearsal location: Bellevue Youth Theatre
    • First meeting: Monday, June 24
      5 p.m. for actors ages 5-10
      6 p.m. for actors ages 11 and older
    • Rehearsals begin: Tuesday, June 25 at 4 p.m.
    • Rehearsal time: Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Tech Week: The week beginning August 12 at Bellevue Youth Theatre - NO CONFLICTS
    • Performs: August 16-18 - NO CONFLICTS

Fees:
Residents - Free
Non-residents - $150

Refunds (for non-Bellevue residents):

  • If you withdraw seven calendar days prior to the start of class (first meeting), you will receive a $140 refund.
  • If you withdraw one to six days prior to the start of class (first meeting), your refund will be $75.
  • If you withdraw on or after the first class (first meeting), you will not receive a refund.
  • NOTE: The withdrawal must be processed. Voicemail and email requests do not constitute "being processed." You must speak to someone live to consider you or your child withdrawn. If you are calling on the weekend, you may call Bellevue Parks & Community Services' main line at 425-452-6885 and press 1 to be transferred to someone live.
  • In addition, you will not be refunded if you don't like your part or feel you don't have enough lines.
