In the Event of an Earthquake
- Drop, Cover, and Hold.
- Repeat for aftershocks.
- Move away from immediate hazards (e.g. windows, large objects).
- Check yourself and others for injuries.
- Assist others where possible.
- Stay where you are if safe to do so.
If There is a Fire or a Need for Evacuation
- Afterhours external meetings: Identify an assembly point prior to your meeting (e.g. by the flag pole).
- Alarms, flashing lights, and announcements may be activated.
- Follow exit signs to closest and safest exit.
- Assist members in your group with access or functional needs.
- Call 911 if unable to evacuate.
- Go to your assembly points (during business hours: follow staff to an assembly point).
- Report missing persons to 911 once outside.
- Wait for all-clear from emergency personnel before re-entering.
If There is a Medical Emergency
- Call 911 and give location:
- "Bellevue City Hall 450 110th AVE NE, Bellevue, Room XXXX"
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) located in conference room hallway outside 1E-112.
If You See Something, Say Something
Report suspicious behavior or unattended items by going to emergency personnel desks on the concourse, calling 911, or calling building security.
