BYT is offering virtual classes!  Registration begins:

Solo Show Development

In this class your options for storytelling are unlimited, whether you want to explore your personal life story, or a pencil at the bottom of your book bag. Together we will create our own mini-solo shows. Min 4/Max 10

  • Ages: 11-18

Poetry in Motion 

In this class students will explore the heightened text of poetry as a way to further their physicality within the theatre. We will use poetry to explore creating environments, storytelling and creative play! Min 4/Max 10

Creature Creation 

Have you always wanted to be a dragon, fairy or chicken with a cat tail, mouse ears and a top hat? Join us as we explore creating creatures who might get into some creative drama trouble as we discover a new realm together. Students will use their bodies, voices and imaginations to create their own creatures that will help their instructor solve a variety of problems along the way! Min 4/Max 10

Shadow Play 

Welcome to the Shadows. In this class students will explore how we can use the lighting around us, our own shadows and any creations we design using paper, pencils and scissors. Students can use any lighting that they have, from lamps, wall switches, to flashlights. No easily movable lighting? No problem, using our imaginations we can create any environment we so choose! Min 4/Max 10

Theater Movement and Dance 

Learn character movement and dance to the music from OLIVER!  This is a great entry-level class to start to build your theatre resume. Min 4/Max 10

Learn character movement and dance from OLIVER! This class will be designed to help you build a dance vocabulary and enjoy moving to this classic music. Min 4/Max 10

Theater Character Dance 

This class will focus and continue to build from the last session with selections from THE WIZ. Whether you were in the last session or are new, this is a fun class to really move and learn the choreography for this fun show. Min 4/Max 10

How to do a Theater Production 

Learn how to do a theatre production. Last session included professional speakers from Broadway and local theatre. Instruction is based on the virtual format. Build those skills so when we return to being live, you will be ready to take on any production.  Min 4/Max 8

Already have some basic theater skills or want to build on skills from our last class? Dive into the world of production theater and prepare yourself for the new theater world that awaits us.  Min 4/Max 8
