The city adopted an Affordable Housing Strategy in 2017, which includes five strategies and 21 actions to increase the availability and access to affordable housing here over the next 10 years. The strategy builds from and supplements these efforts with additional effective tools. The primary purpose of the strategy is to improve affordable housing opportunities throughout the city consistent with City Council priorities, Comprehensive Plan guidance, and Economic Development Plan Strategies.
The council launched an update to the Affordable Housing Strategy in November 2024. For information or to subscribe to updates on the ongoing project, please visit Engaging Bellevue.
