With World Cup soccer games coming to seattle this summer, the city is committed to fostering a safe, informed community. There is an increased risk of human trafficking associated with major global sporting events. As part of this effort, Bellevue is partnering with Business Ending Slavery & Trafficking (BEST), which offers free training on how to identify and report trafficking.
Human trafficking can affect any community, and increasing public understanding is a key to prevention. The city invites event organizers and employees of restaurants and other businesses to register for online or in-person trafficking awareness training. The training will cover how to recognize indicators of exploitation, safely respond and prevent trafficking from occurring.
