Bellevue's Environmental Stewardship Initiative is the city's sustainability program, which oversees a range of actions designed to help the city achieve its climate, sustainability and environmental goals.

    What's New

    • Sustainable Bellevue Plan Update Engagement Opportunities: Thank you to all who shared your sustainability priorities since the launch of the Sustainable Bellevue Plan update last fall! We've been hard at work translating your feedback into draft strategies and actions for the next iteration of the plan. Now, we're launching new opportunities to hear more from our community on priorities and hopes for a thriving and livable Bellevue for generations to come.
      • Take our Phase II Community Survey in English, Español, Pусский, 한국인, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.
      • Register for our July 14 Open House at Crossroads Park.
    • Wilburton Sustainable District Opportunity Assessment: The Wilburton Sustainable District Opportunity Assessment report is now available! This work was done as part of the Wilburton Vision Implementation, and evaluates opportunities for creating a sustainable district–a geographic area where sustainable practices are integrated throughout.
    • Solarize Eastside: We're excited to announce our new program helping Bellevue community members install solar panels on their homes and businesses. Participants who sign up by July 4 will receive a detailed solar proposal at a reduced rate from a partner solar installer and can easily schedule dates for panel installation. Learn more.

    Sustainable Bellevue Plan Update

Sustainable Bellevue logo with tagline: Bold Action, Bright Future

The Enivronmental Stewardship team launched our 2026-2030 Sustainable Bellevue Plan update with the City Council on Oct. 29. Guided by our new carbon neutral by 2050 target in the Comprehensive Plan, the city will focus on updating the Plan’s strategies and actions to meet our 2030 goals and beyond. There will be many opportunities to engage on the plan update, including our Phase II Community Survey (in English, Español, Pусский, 한국인, 简体中文, and 繁體中文) and July 14 Open House at Crossroads Park. Please follow our project on Engaging Bellevue and subscribe to our Newsletter to ensure you don't miss an update.
