The Parks and Open Space System Plan contains the community's long-range vision for acquisition and development of parks and trails and preservation of open space. It also sets the standards for the operation and maintenance of Bellevue's parks, trails and open spaces over time.

Many of Bellevue's parks and trails that we use and treasure today were first conceived as an idea in the Parks Plan.

About every six years, Bellevue updates its parks plan. The City Council adopted the 2022 Parks and Open Space System Plan on July 11, 2022. Thank you to everyone who participated in the update. Nearly 900 people completed a parks survey, over 150 community members submitted ideas, and conversations were had at many community meetings.

The Plan

The Parks and Open Space System Plan identifies seven major focus areas around which the Bellevue Parks & Community Services Department meets the park, open space and recreation needs of the community.
