The Transportation Department looks well into the future to plan projects and improvements to help people safely and efficiently reach their destinations.
It accomplishes that in several ways, such as using public feedback and working collaboratively with other city departments and outside organizations.
Planning efforts include: major policy initiatives such as those in the BelRed, Downtown and Wilburton areas; medium- to long-range capital project plans; planning according to geographic subareas; and planning for transit, pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
