As part of Bellevue's Innovations Programs, the Civic Innovation Challenge is an initiative designed to address civic challenges and city priorities through design partnerships and proof of concept. Bellevue anticipates selecting 3-5 participants annually for each Challenge. Applicants should have technology or business solutions that support city priorities.
Second Civic Innovation Challenge to launch
The city will announce and launch a second Challenge in 2026. The Civic Challenge will be open to individuals, teams, students, startups and businesses. Applicants will be reviewed and assessed by staff and subject matter experts based on the posted criteria. Please stay tuned for further details.
Civic Challenge Award recipients receive:
- Coaching and mentoring from seasoned entrepreneurs, advisors and investors.
- Design partnership with City of Bellevue staff to help test, optimize and/or refine a product or service.
- Opportunity to showcase solutions for a civic tech audience and build relationships across the innovation ecosystem.
- Up to a $15,000 stipend.
