    The following traffic advisories reflect current conditions as they are known. The listings below reflect construction work that can affect travel on city streets, sidewalks and trails (note: excludes individual lane closures or lane and sidewalk closures associated with development projects). Expect traffic delays or use an alternate route, if possible. Please obey construction signs and flaggers. Construction schedules are subject to change and often do.

    Special event advisory: Bellevue Family 4th

    The 33rd Annual Bellevue Family 4th begins at 5 p.m. with free live performances, family-friendly activities, food trucks, and ends with a fireworks show scheduled for 10:05 p.m. To keep people safe and minimize delays, several downtown streets will be closed to vehicle traffic before, during and after the event. Please be patient, observe posted signs and obey police officers directing traffic. 

    Please see below for start times for planned street closures on Friday, Jul. 4:

    4:30 p.m.

    • Westbound lane of NE 1st St from 100th Ave NE to 102nd Ave NE 

    6 p.m.

    • Eastbound NE 4th St closed at 100th Ave NE
    • Southbound left turn lane from 100th Ave NE to eastbound NE 4th St 

    9 p.m.

    • NE 1st St from 100th Ave NE to 103rd Ave NE (closed until 12 a.m.)
    • Northbound 102nd Ave NE at NE 1st Place

    9:30 p.m.

    • Westbound NE 2nd Ave from 103rd Ave NE to Bellevue Way
    • Eastbound NE 8th St at 100th Ave NE; no left turn onto southbound 100th Ave NE
    • Southbound left turn lane at NE 8th St at 101st Ave NE
    • Southbound left turn lane at NE 8th St at Bellevue Way NE
    • Southbound Bellevue Way NE at NE 8th St
    • Westbound NE 4th St at Bellevue Way NE

    10:00 p.m.

    • Westbound NE 6th St from Bellevue Way NE to 105th Ave NE

    11:30 p.m.

    • All streets will resume to normal operation

    Current construction impacts 

    • 110th Avenue NE between Main Street and NE 2nd Street: Full road closure scheduled Jun. 21, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. for mobile crane set up. The sidewalk will remain open, and uniformed police officers will be on-site at both ends of the closure. 

    Ongoing construction impacts

    • UPDATED — NE 8th St – Between 112th Ave NE and 116th Ave NE, across the I-405 interchange: Overnight ramp and lane closures, June 23-27, 9 p.m.-5 a.m.
      • June 23-25, 26-27: Ramp closures EB and WB NE 8th St to NB I-405, NB I-405 to EB  and WB NE 8th St.  NE 8th St will be reduced to one lane each direction.
      • June 25-56: Ramp closures EB and WB NE 8th St to SB I-405, SB I-405 to EB NE 8th St, NB I-405 to WB NE 8th St. NE 8th St will be reduced to one lane each direction.
    • 130th Avenue NE - BelRed Road to NE 20th Street: Starting Feb. 4, traffic on 130th Avenue NE will shift into a single, southbound-only lane to continue demolition, grading and utility work on the east side of 130th Avenue NE. Signed detour via 132nd between NE 20th and Bel-Red Road. Local access to businesses will be maintained. Construction anticipated through fall 2025.     • Downtown National Highway System (NHS) Overlay: The city is currently upgrading curb ramps and repaving the arterials at the downtown locations listed below. Pavement repaving work will primarily take place overnight between the hours of 7 p.m.–6 a.m. Expect traffic to shift to one side of the roadway during nighttime working hours. Curb ramp replacement work will occur during the day. For more information, including a map showing all of the upcoming 2025 Pavement Preservation locations, visit BellevueWA.gov/pavement.  
      • No night time activities until the week of June 23.  Crews will be upgrading the northwest corner of 106th Ave NE & NE 8th and working on utility adjustments along Bellevue Way between
        • 112th Ave SE - NE 4th St.,
        • NE 4th between Bellevue Way - 112th Ave NE.
      • Jun. 23 - Jul 3: NE 8th paving operations on westbound  lanes between 100th Ave NE - 112th Ave NE

    Other agency projects

    • Washington State Department of Transportation: SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program. More information on project webpage.
    • Washington State Department of Transportation: I-405 Burlington Northern Bridge to Pedestrian Trail Bridge & I-90/East Fork Issaquah Creek Seismic: More information on project webpage
      • Northup Way from 116th Avenue NE to NE 33rd Place: Northup Way is reduced to one lane between 116th Avenue NE and NE 33rd Place. The long-term closure will be in effect daily from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the work zone.
    • Washington State Department of Transportation: I-90 - Sunset Creek - Fish Passage: More information on project webpage.
      • Long term closure of Southeast Eastgate Way: Construction on the new bridge across Sunset Creek along Southeast Eastgate Way is scheduled to start April 21, requiring a six-month closure of both travel lanes between Seattle Humane and Polaris at Eastgate.
        • A signed detour will be in place and local access will be permitted to the east and west of the work zone. Bus stops on SE Eastgate Way will also be relocated. The closure will be in place 24/7 but construction will primarily occur during the day between 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
      • HOV on-ramp from 142nd Place Southeast to westbound I-90: Starting Feb. 26, the westbound I-90 HOV lane between 142nd Place Southeast and I-405 will close for up to two years for the next stage of construction. This also includes an extended closure of the HOV on-ramp from142nd Place Southeast to westbound I-90. Signed detours will guide people around the ramp closures. Sound Transit and King County Metro will reroute bus routes that serve the 142nd Place Southeast HOV on-ramp.
    • Washington State Department of Transportation: Renton to Bellevue I-405 Widening and Express Toll Lane Project:  More information on project webpage.
      • Temporary one-way directional signals along Lake Washington Blvd SE in the Lakehurst Lane neighborhood. The signals are at the north and south end of the work zone and the intersections of Lakehurst Lane SE and Bagley Lane. The signals are required for metering drivers through one-lane during non-working hours. Ecoblocks and construction equipment occupy the northbound lane of Lake Washington Blvd SE between112th Avenue SE and Newcastle Beach Park. The temporary one-way directional signals are anticipated through early summer 2025 and could extended if there are construction issues or weather delays.

    • King County Coal Creek Sewer Upgrade Project: King County Wastewater Treatment Division is upgrading its regional sewer line that serves Bellevue and Newcastle. More information on project website.
    • King County North Mercer Island/Enatai Sewer Upgrade Project: Crews will locate utilities in north Mercer Island and southwest Bellevue to prepare for major construction activities from spring 2022 and extend until 2025.     Highway traffic information
