    About Us

    Mission & Vision

It is the purpose of Bellevue’s Parks & Community Services to provide people who live with disabilities the opportunities and choices for recreation, socialization and fitness so that they can participate more successfully in the life of our community.

People living with disabilities successfully participate in program(s) of their choosing throughout the Bellevue area.

The Choices for People with Disabilities Plan provides an outline of recreational choices available for residents with disabilities. The Plan describes the process that Parks & Community Services uses to support the inclusion process & specialized recreation, thereby encouraging those living with disabilities to participate in the programs of their choosing.

    History

In the interest of socializing, a group of Highland residents in 1923 banded together and formed the Kent Corner Community Club, named for the Kent family who donated a site on the Bellevue-Redmond Road for a log-frame clubhouse. Members did all the land clearing and construction.

    Inclement Weather Plan

In the event of inclement weather, Bellevue Parks & Community Services will make every effort to clearly communicate the status of facilities and programs, special events, and rentals. The department will make an operational decision based upon the safety of participants and employees and the ability to appropriately staff programs and facilities.

Facility operating hours may vary, and those facilities not able to operate at full capacity may be open for drop-in activities on a modified schedule. Call the facility to confirm operating hours. If you are unable to reach the facility, then call the Parks & Community Services Department general information line at 425-452-6885 or visit the Parks homepage.

Inclement weather can affect park use and trail conditions. Please use caution when visiting park sites during poor weather as trails and other park facilities may become wet and slippery. Park trails may also be closed.
