    Lake to Lake Bike Ride

Thank you to all that participated in the 12th annual bike ride! We'll be back in 2026.

The Lake to Lake Bike Ride is an enjoyable, non-competitive ride that explores the hidden treasures of Bellevue. This ride utilizes low traffic roads, bike lanes, and part of the Lake-to-Lake Trail (non-technical gravel) and traverses much of the City. There are two routes: Greenbelt Loop, mostly flat 8-mile route; and Lake Loop, more challenging 24-mile route with significant elevation gain. The course is well-marked and supported by staff and volunteers. Riders under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-register for the ride at a discounted rate. Under age 9 are free.

As part of the Lake to Lake Bike Ride, there will be a kid-friendly course around the soccer fields at Robinswood Park. The Kids Ride is free and open to ages 3-8. Kids can complete as many laps around the course as time permits. Registration is required for the Kids Ride (and spots are limited).

Pump up your tires, put on your helmet, and get rolling! We hope to see you there! Go to the Lake to Lake Bike Ride webpage for more information!

    Cross Country Workouts

    Running – Cross Country

Kids running cross country is one of the most basic forms of kids’ sports. Come join Bellevue Youth Sports’ outdoor running program in September 2024 or use the workouts below while exploring trails within Bellevue’s Park system. Workouts are age and experience appropriate and provide both short and long-distance workouts to improve fitness while having fun.  Please make sure your runner has a towel for ground exercises and a water bottle each day.  Cross country running for children develops strong mental skills and builds an improved sense of discipline towards running, other sports, and life in general.

Note: Running distances vary from a half-mile to one mile.  Below is a five-day workout plan to get your kids out exercising during the week.  Each workout is designed to take 45 – 60 minutes per day.  See maps for Robinswood Park (one mile and half mile) and Wilburton Hill Park (one mile and half mile) for great courses for you and your family.

    • Monday – Day 1 Workout
    • Tuesday – Day 2 Workout
    • Wednesday – Day 3 - Break
    • Thursday – Day 4 Workout
    • Friday – Day 5 Workout

    Zackery Lystedt Law

This law was passed in Washington state in 2009. It prohibits youth athletes suspected of sustaining a concussion from returning to play without a licensed healthcare provider's approval. The law will directly affect youth sports, head injury policies and future City of Bellevue youth participants.

To help parents and children stay informed, Bellevue will help distribute information about this new law. Before any child is allowed to participate in a City of Bellevue Youth Sports program, the documents listed below must be read, signed and turned in prior to participation. These documents are also included in the informational packets for parents and coaches.

    • Parent/Athlete Information Sheet
    • Parent/Athlete Information Consent Form
    • Information for Coaches
    • Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) web page -- Youth Sports Head Injury Guidelines and Procedures

    Inclement Weather Plan

In the event of inclement weather, Bellevue Parks & Community Services will make every effort to clearly communicate the status of facilities and programs, special events, and rentals. The department will make an operational decision based upon the safety of participants and employees and the ability to appropriately staff programs and facilities.

Facility operating hours may vary, and those facilities not able to operate at full capacity may be open for drop-in activities on a modified schedule. Call the facility to confirm operating hours. If you are unable to reach the facility, then call the Parks & Community Services Department general information line at 425-452-6885 or visit the Parks homepage.

Inclement weather can affect park use and trail conditions. Please use caution when visiting park sites during poor weather as trails and other park facilities may become wet and slippery. Park trails may also be closed.
