    Kelsey Creek Farm - The farm's programs emphasize its uniqueness, with children's recreational programs, seasonal camps, pony care and farm experience classes, farm-themed tours, and many volunteer opportunities. 

    Join us for hands-on fun in the barnyard with your 2-3-year-old. Classes will feature various farm animals, barn chores, feeding, petting, and taking a pony ride – all the fun is right here! Children team up with a parent/adult to actively participate in this class. Come dressed to play outside and get dirty! Siblings under two are welcome in front or back packs.

    Your child will get to ride one of our adorable ponies on a private ride through the trails at Kelsey Creek Farm! Your child will learn the basics of horseback riding and experience the farm in a whole new way! Parents/guardians may choose to walk along, but no strollers allowed.

    Join us for a farm adventure featuring animal care, barn chores, a pony ride, and baking yummy snacks.  This drop-off program is designed for the independent 4-6-year-old. Curriculum is integrated with seasonal themes, arts and crafts, stories and animal interaction. This class includes a pony ride. Children must be potty trained.

    Farm Animal Pen Pals
    Are you curious about what Kelsey Creek Farm’s animals are up to? Sign up for this program to receive a letter from one of our adorable farm animals! When you sign up, your animal will send you a letter and a photograph of him/herself. If you send a letter in reply to your farm animal, you will receive a customized letter in return. For each purchase, you will receive a picture of your animal, a self-addressed envelope, and up to two letters.

    Little Vet School Mini Camp: Dog

    Students will role-play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian and learn how to care for a dog. These future veterinarians will learn how to remove ticks, give immunizations, suture lacerations, read an x-ray, design their own veterinarian office, and explore dog digestion. Each student will receive a lab coat, plush dog and diploma as a graduate of Little Veterinarian School upon completion of the course along with supplies for each class. 

    Little Vet School Mini Camp: Horse

    Students can learn all about horses and their care from the newest Little Medical School Equine program. Students will adopt and name their plush horse and learn the anatomy and maintenance of a horse. They will also learn basic horse nutrition, riding styles, gaits and role-play and basic key responsibilities of an equine veterinarian.

    Little Vet School Mini Camp: Cat

    Students will role-play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian and learn how to care for a cat. These future veterinarians will learn how to give a tip-to-tail exam, suture lacerations, give immunizations, discover the elements that make up a cat's blood, explore cat digestion, and understand cat body language. Each student will receive a lab coat, plush cat and diploma as a graduate of Little Veterinarian School upon completion of the course along with supplies for each class. 

     

    Little Doctor School Mini Camp

    Students will role-play the key responsibilities of a doctor and learn about vital organs in the human body. These future doctors will practice suturing stitches and administering first aid; they will learn about the heart, lungs, bones, brain, spine, eyes, digestion, and how pharmacists play a role in prescribing medicine. Each student will receive a lab coat, stethoscope and diploma as a graduate of Little Doctor School upon completion of the course.

    Wilderness Medicine Mini Camp

    Students will role-play emergency situations in the wild and learn how to prepare for natural disasters. These future emergency medics will learn about snake bites, hypothermia, tourniquets, poisonous plants, edible plants, distress signals, forest fires, tornadoes, storms, mosquito bites, and water safety. Each student will receive a diploma as a graduate of Wilderness Medicine School upon completion of the course. 

        Little Nursing/Nutrition Mini Camp

        These future dieticians will learn about healthy eating habits, the food pyramid, and global foods through our nutrition workbook Asha's Magical Ride. Students will discover the important responsibilities of a nurse and identify the primary instruments used. These future nurses will learn about the importance of immunizations, the role a nurse plays before/during/after surgery and how to treat broken bones. Students will role-play the key responsibilities of a dentist and become familiar with basic dental instruments. These future dentists will learn about mouth structure, the parts of a tooth, oral hygiene, most common dental operations, and how to fill a cavity.

        Explore the farm, play active outdoor games, create crafts, and make new friends. Trained staff will provide a safe and supportive environment in a small group setting. Each week will bring a variety of new and different activities.

        Gather eggs, get up close with the rabbits and learn what it takes to care for the smaller animals on the Farm. End the week with an old-fashioned tractor-pulled wagon ride and a western style picnic in the park. Trained staff will provide a safe and supportive environment in a small group setting.

        June 27 -July 1

        Explore creeks and wetlands at Kelsey Creek Farm. Search for hidden treasures, create fish print shirts and play a game of shark and minnows. Trained staff will provide a safe and supportive environment in a small group setting.

        July 5 - 8 *

        How far can an egg fall without breaking?  Mix up some magic milk and watch a bean grow.  This week will be filled with farm-style experiments, outdoor games, and activities. Trained staff will provide a safe and supportive environment in a small group setting. 
         

        July 11-15 

         

        Barnyard relays, challenge yourself through a western-style obstacle course and participate in a variety of active sports and games. Join us as we celebrate the week with Farm Olympics. Trained staff will provide a safe and supportive environment in a small group setting. 

        July 18-22

        Get ready for a wacky week of icky, sticky, barnyard experiments.  Watch “dancing corn” and create a gak-style mud puddle for your own pretend pigs to roll in. Come dressed to get messy and explore the world of science. Trained staff will provide a safe and supportive environment in a small group setting.
         

        July 25-29

        Did you know that owls, blue herons, beavers, and bobcats all call Kelsey Creek Farm Park their home? Create your own pair of binoculars and explore near-by wetlands, forest, and creek-sides in search of wildlife. Trained staff will provide a safe and supportive environment in a small group setting.

        August 1-5

        Learn how the Kelsey Creek Farm animals stay cool on those long hot days of summer. Fill water troughs, make frozen treats for the rabbits and watch the pig play in the mud. Get ready for some wet and refreshing fun! Trained staff will provide a safe and supportive environment in a small group setting.

        August 8-12

        Open the barn door and get to know some of the larger animals at the Farm. Help with barn chores, go on a goat walk and make a tasty treat for the pig. Enjoy an old-fashioned tractor pulled wagon ride. Trained staff will provide a safe and supportive environment in a small group setting. 

        August 15-19

        Fine arts on the farm, inspired by the Kelsey Creek Farm environment. Your elementary-age child will celebrate their individual creative expressions through exploration of multiple-medias. Paint with colorful acrylics, sketch on the farm, develop watercolor style with color theory exploration, sculpting with molding clay, create collages, and use oil pastels too. Dress for creative mess and bring your playful imagination. Instructor Diane Culhane is a renowned artist in the Pacific Northwest with a master’s degree in Art Education and extensive teaching experience. Her work is represented in galleries and shows across the country

        Join professional cartoonist Jeff Johnson for a unique opportunity for kids of all skill levels to explore the art of cartooning in an encouraging, positive classroom environment at Kelsey Creek Farm. Surrounded by historic dairy barns and the farm animals that call Kelsey Creek Farm, “home,” students will have plenty of inspiration to create their own cartoons. A series of fun, challenging projects showcase multiple areas of study including faces, bodies, character development, layout, perspective, lettering and much more. Emphasis is on developing each student’s own style. All materials provided. Come join the fun at Kelsey Creek Farm!

        Explore our farm full of animals. We’ll meet a different animal each day, ‘work’ on barn chores, take a pony ride, make crafts and child-made snacks for a busy week. This special half-day camp will have your child loving our chickens, goats, cows, pigs, and rabbits

        Join us at this hands-on adventure as you explore Kelsey Creek Farm. Children actively participate in animal care, making animal treats, working on barnyard chores, and learning fun facts about the farm.  Time to play, arts and crafts, and circle time helps children develop important social skills.  This special half-day camp will have your child loving our chickens, goats, cows, pigs, and rabbits.  A pony ride will be included.

CIT volunteers must be punctual, follow directions, and demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills.

        This is an opportunity to learn about livestock care and farm maintenance, as volunteers assist Kelsey Creek Farm staff with daily operations, animal chores, and learn responsible animal care. Volunteers will be working outside, exposed to animals, hay, vegetation, and dust. They will work independently and be physically active. All volunteers will be required to complete a Criminal Background check and provide their Social Security number.
