Travel Advisory: Lake Hills Boulevard Closure

Starting June 15, Lake Hills Boulevard is closed between 151st and 154th avenues Southeast for two months. Expect travel delays and avoid the area for non-essential travel, if possible. For the latest updates, detour maps and information on the project to reduce flooding in the area, visit Kelsey Creek Culvert.

Downtown Bellevue NEP voting open through July 23

Make your preferences known by voting for your top three Downtown NEP ideas! Use your voter pamphlet to review the projects and mail in your top three project selections with the self-addressed, postage pre-paid ballot. One ballot per residential address; including your name and email are optional.

Lake Hills project submission phase now closed
The project submission stage for NEP in the Lake Hills neighborhood area closed on April 22.  City staff are now evaluating the ideas submitted against NEP criteria. At an open house Thursday, September 17, staff will present the eligible projects to be included on a ballot. Watch your mailbox for meeting details to arrive in early September.

The Neighborhood Enhancement Program empowers residents to propose and select modest, city-funded capital projects to enhance their neighborhoods. The program rotates through the city's 14 neighborhood areas over the course of seven years, serving two areas each year. The $7 million program allocation is distributed among each of the neighborhood areas, based on number of households.

Hear what your neighbors have to say about the program and learn about the city's process by watching the "What is NEP?" video.

Sequence

When NEP comes to your neighborhood area, it follows a sequence.

  1. Solicitation: Residents submit project ideas (mail, website or kick-off meeting).
  2. Scoping: Staff review project ideas using screening criteria and generate ballot projects.
  3. Preview: Residents review ballot projects at public open house.
  4. Voting: Households in the neighborhood receive ballots in the mail to vote for three projects of their choice.
  5. Implementation: The city implements projects that receive the most votes within five years.
