Requesting a Street Closure for Block Parties
Watch a video tutorial to create your Site Plan Map and file in MyBuildingPermit.
If you need street closure for your block party, you must apply for a street closure permit from the city. Requesting a permit for Block Party events is free, but residents must apply with at least one month's advance notice before the date of the event. City supported block parties are not possible without advance notice.
All permits will require two supplemental documents to complete the application:
- Site Plan Map Tool
This is an aerial map of your street with markings for the barrier locations. Create your own using our Site Plan Tool. - Neighborhood Block Party Notification Acknowledgment Form
This form indicates the block party planner must notify all affected neighbors at least two-weeks before the event.
Once those documents are completed, you're ready to apply for a street-closure permit on MyBuildingPermit.
Please allow one month for review prior to the event. Approved permit documentation will provide additional instructions, including information for required barricade rental at no cost to residents.
