The city is planning to add a sidewalk and bike lanes to Southeast Newport Way, between 150th and 152nd avenues, and residents can offer input on possible designs at an open house on Thursday, Nov. 21, 4:30-6:30 p.m., at Eastgate United Congregational Church of Christ, 15318 SE Newport Way (Quilting Room).
At the open house, city staff will share conceptual bike lane and sidewalk designs for that segment of Southeast Newport Way. Possible improvements include a six-foot-wide sidewalk on the south side of the street, bike lanes on both sides, landscaped planters and a midblock crossing near Eastgate Elementary School.
Construction is expected summer through fall 2014.
