The following traffic advisories reflect current conditions as they are known. The listings below reflect construction work that can affect travel on city streets, sidewalks and trails (note: excludes individual lane closures or lane and sidewalk closures associated with development projects). Expect traffic delays or use an alternate route, if possible. Please obey construction signs and flaggers. Construction schedules are subject to change and often do.

Special event advisory: Bellevue Arts Weekend (July 25 - July 28)

Between Thursday, July 25 – Sunday, July 28, the Bellevue Art Fair and Festival will be held at:

  • NE 6th St between Bellevue Way NE and 106th Ave NE 
  • 106th Ave NE between NE 4th St and NE 8th St 

Please see below for the timeline of planned road closures for the event:

July 25 (Thursday):

  • Northbound lanes of 100th Avenue NE, between NE 4th Street and NE 8th Street (6 a.m. – 10 p.m.)
  • Southbound lanes of 100th Avenue NE, between NE 8th Street and NE 10th Street (6 a.m. – 10 p.m.)

July 25-28 (Thursday - Sunday):

  • Full closure of NE 6th Street between Bellevue Way NE to 105th Avenue NE (6 a.m. – 11 p.m. on Sunday, 7/28)
  • Full closure of NE 6th Street between 105th Avenue NE to 106th Avenue NE (4:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. on Sunday, 7/28)
  • Full closure of 106th Avenue NE between NE 4th Street to NE 8th Street (4:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. on Sunday, 7/28)

July 28 (Sunday):

  • Northbound lanes of 100th Avenue NE, between NE 4th Street and NE 8th Street (6 a.m. – 10 p.m.)
  • Southbound lanes of 100th Avenue NE, between NE 8th Street and NE 10th Street (6 a.m. – 10 p.m.)

Additional information:

  • Public on-street parking restrictions with tow away signage will be placed 72 hours in advance where public parking is currently permitted, and towing will begin at 2:00 pm in advance of the formal closures as noted above.
  • Shuttle services operating on 106th Avenue NE will be notified in advance of their need to inform their ridership and drivers of alternative pick-up sites.
  • 105th Ave NE between NE 4th Street and NE 8th Street will remain open throughout the weekend with stop control at NE 6th Street.
  • Local access to businesses and mixed-use/residential towers will remain open at north/south end of the 106th Avenue NE closure limits. Through access will not be provided on 106th Ave NE between NE 4th St and NE 8th St.

Current construction impacts

  • NEW —  BelRed Road between 132nd Avenue NE and 130th Avenue NE: Right lane and sidewalk closure on the north side of BelRed Road to replace a commercial driveway. Work scheduled Fri. 7/26, 4:30 p.m. – 4:00 a.m. and Sat. 7/27, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sidewalk users will be provided a detour on the south side of BelRed Road. 

Ongoing construction impacts

  • Factoria Boulevard SE from SE 38th Street to SE 36th Street: Alternating lane closures starting Jan. 9 for initial construction activities for the Factoria Boulevard Stormwater Conveyance Improvements project. Visit BellevueWA.gov/factoria-stormwater-project for more information
  • Lakemont Boulevard SE from Forest Drive SE to 155th Avenue SE: Lakemont Boulevard reopened for travel on Tuesday, June 11. Potential for intermittent one lane closures (day and night) through Jun. 27 for final construction wrap-up. Visit BellevueWA.gov/lakemont-culvert for more information.
  • UPDATED — 124th Avenue NE from Ichigo Way to Northup Way: Crews have begun final construction activities which will take place through the summer including removing construction vehicles and equipment and restoring private properties impacted by the project. Intermittent single-lane closures may be required to complete this work. As you approach the work area, please lower your speeds and follow all flagger instructions, including electronic and detour message signs. The project is anticipated to be substantially complete in early fall 2024. More information is available on the project webpage.
  • 130th Avenue NE - BelRed Road to NE 20th Street: Starting May 31, 130th Avenue NE will turn into a single, northbound-onlyto install new utilities and begin the first stage of a new roadway on 130th Avenue NE. Signed detour via 132nd between NE 20th and Bel-Red Road. Local access to businesses will be maintained. Construction anticipated through July 2025. Pavement Preservation Program

Paving season is typically from April to October. Flaggers will be on site for traffic control. and pedestrian access maintained unless otherwise indicated. For more information about the paving program, including weekly updates, go to the Pavement Preservation Program webpage

Flaggers will assist motorists and pedestrians through the work zone. Delays are expected. Please slow down for the safety of workers and all travelers. Work hours are Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Expect single lane closures with one-way alternating traffic.

  • NEW — NE 4th St / NE 5th St between 98th Ave NE and 100th Ave NE: Paving operations scheduled Jul. 25 - 26.
  • NEW — NE 12th between 100th Ave NE and end of road: Paving operations scheduled Jul. 25 and Jul. 29.
  • NEW — 118th Ave NE between NE 8th St and 9 Lake Bellevue Drive: Paving operations scheduled Jul. 25 and Jul. 29. 

Other agency projects

  • UPDATED — Washington State Department of Transportation: SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program: 
    • SR 520 and the SR 520 Trail will be closed in both directions between I-5 and the Eastside from 11 p.m. on Friday, July 26 to 5 a.m. on Monday, July 29 for crews to finalize the configuration of the westbound off-ramp to Montlake Blvd. More information on project webpage.
  • Washington State Department of Transportation: I-405 Burlington Northern Bridge to Pedestrian Trail Bridge & I-90/East Fork Issaquah Creek Seismic: More information on project webpage
    • Northup Way from 116th Avenue NE to NE 33rd Place: Northup Way is reduced to one lane between 116th Avenue NE and NE 33rd Place. The long-term closure will be in effect daily from 7 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Friday. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the work zone.
  • Washington State Department of Transportation: I-90 - Sunset Creek - Fish Passage: More information on project webpage.
    • HOV on-ramp from 142nd Place Southeast to westbound I-90: Starting Feb. 26, the westbound I-90 HOV lane between 142nd Place Southeast and I-405 will close for up to two years for the next stage of construction. This also includes an extended closure of the HOV on-ramp from142nd Place Southeast to westbound I-90. Signed detours will guide people around the ramp closures. Sound Transit and King County Metro will reroute bus routes that serve the 142nd Place Southeast HOV on-ramp.
    • One-lane alternating traffic started Nov. 28 for up to 18 months while WSDOT constructs a bridge over Sunset Creek. Temporary signals will be in place for traffic control.
    • A long-term closure of the Mountains to Sound Greenway trail is in effect through spring 2024 to create a work zone between 132nd Avenue SE and an area just east of the Sunset Ravine Trail. A signed detour will guide people rolling and walking around the work zone using the sidewalk on the south side of SE 36th Street.
  • UPDATED — Washington State Department of Transportation: Renton to Bellevue I-405 Widening and Express Toll Lane Project: 
    • Single lane closure of the Lake Washington Boulevard SE bridge over I-405 scheduled Mon. Jul. 29 – Thurs. Aug. 1, between the hours of 9:15 p.m. – 6 a.m. to install a permanent guardrail.
    • As of July 8, drivers will encounter temporary one-way directional signals along Lake Washington Blvd SE in the Lakehurst Lane neighborhood. The signals are at the north and south end of the work zone and the intersections of Lakehurst Lane SE and Bagley Lane. The signals are required for metering drivers through one-lane during non-working hours. Ecoblocks and construction equipment occupy the northbound lane of Lake Washington Blvd SE between112th Avenue SE and Newcastle Beach Park. The temporary one-way directional signals are anticipated through November and could extended if there are construction issues or weather delays. More information on project webpage.
  • King County Eastrail: More information on project webpage.
  • King County Coal Creek Sewer Upgrade Project: King County Wastewater Treatment Division is upgrading its regional sewer line that serves Bellevue and Newcastle. More information on project website.
  • King County North Mercer Island/Enatai Sewer Upgrade Project: Crews will locate utilities in north Mercer Island and southwest Bellevue to prepare for major construction activities from spring 2022 and extend until 2025.     • Sweyolocken Boat Launch: Road closed from Bellevue Way SE to the Sweyolocken Boat Launch. The area south of the Sweyolocken Pump Station will be closed as well. The I-90 Trail will be closed to the east and southwest of the pump station during construction. Detours for trail traffic will be alongside streets near the South Bellevue Park and Ride to the I-90 Bike Trail near 108th Avenue SE.
