Sharon Cini, ADA, Title VI, Equal Opportunity Officer
Sharon Cini is the City of Bellevue’s ADA, Title VI, Equal Opportunity Officer. The ADA, Title VI, Equal Opportunity Officer develops and leads strategic strategies, policies, and initiatives to embed principles into city operations and fosters inclusive environments for employees, residents, and visitors. She is responsible for advancing accessibility, equity, and inclusion across the City of Bellevue, responsible for ensuring compliance with the ADA (Americans with Disability Act), Title VI Civil Rights Assurances, and other federal, state, and local regulations. As a seasoned Public Administrator, her emphasis is focused on eliminating barriers, ensuring language access, and promoting equitable outcomes for all community members. She enjoys community engagement, developing cross-functional partnerships, and promoting fair opportunities for all.
Kristi Oosterveen, Transportation Program Manager
Kristi Oosterveen is a Program Manager in the Transportation Department at the City of Bellevue. Her responsibilities include managing all departmental efforts relating to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, submitting the city’s annual Title VI report to the Washington State Department of Transportation, and training staff across the city to improve Title VI compliance and awareness. Kristi is also the primary author of the city’s Title VI Plan. Before working on Title VI, Kristi managed financial documentation for the city’s Transportation department, giving her a strong foundation in city government. She has thirty years of experience working with the City of Bellevue, fifteen of which she has spent working on Title VI compliance. She firmly believes in teaching staff the importance of understanding the communities they serve and works tirelessly to ensure that the city goes above and beyond the Title VI requirements of federal law. She takes great pride in the city’s recent accomplishments relating to Title VI, including developing trainings, handouts, an internal employee resource site, and an organization-wide effort to translate vital information into multiple languages.
