Civic Engagement

The city offers many opportunities to become involved and have a voice in community affairs. In addition to serving on boards and commissions, you can also help other residents by providing specialized assistance to city departments and divisions.

Volunteers in Civic Engagement include those with the Police Department staffing substations and helping with parking enforcement, and amateur radio operators helping the Fire Department's Office of Emergency Management. You can learn to be a mediator with the city and help neighbors and family members resolve disagreements. Residents can help young people by volunteering with the city's Family, Youth and Teen Services division.
