Garden Lecture: The Pleasure Garden
Bellevue Botanical Garden - online event, 12001 Main Street
2021 Lecture Series: The Pleasure Garden
Jeffrey Bale is an Oregon native residing in the beautiful city of Portland. After graduating with a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon, he worked in an office for 20 minutes before running out the door and beginning a career designing and building gardens on his own. It was an early trip to Spain and Portugal that introduced him to the art of mosaic. On returning home, he taught himself how to build his own pebble and tile mosaics and frequently uses them to embellish his garden designs. He has a profound appreciation for the natural world, so the gardens he builds are complementary to the natural environments surrounding them, while at the same time being places to immerse oneself in a setting of inspiring and meaningful beauty.
