    ST3 in Bellevue

The voter-approved Sound Transit 3 (ST3) measure will bring bus, light rail, and parking projects to the Eastside. These projects will connect Eastside cities with other Eastside cities and Downtown Seattle via the East Link light rail extension, which is currently under construction in Bellevue.

Check out Sound Transit's System Expansion Interactive Map.

ST3 projects occurring within Bellevue will include:

    I-405 Stride Bus Rapid Transit

This project will connect the I-405 corridor, from the Lynnwood Transit Center to the Burien Transit Center via the Bellevue Transit Center, with bus service every 10-minutes. Project elements include new parking, station access improvements, a new transit center in South Renton, and new stations at Northeast 85th Street in Kirkland and Northeast 44th Street in Renton. Project webpage.

The project is expected to open in phases, with the segment from Burien to downtown Bellevue opening in 2026 and the segment from downtown Bellevue to Lynwood opening in 2027. Sound Transit is currently in the design phase of the project.

South Kirkland Park and Ride to Issaquah Light Rail

This project will create a second Eastside Light Rail Line connection between the South Kirkland Park-and-Ride and Issaquah via Eastgate and central Bellevue.

The project is projected to open in 2041, depending on funding. Project webpage.
