• Youth Link leadership awards nominations open

    Do you know someone who has championed a cause, overcome personal obstacles or advocated for a more supportive and inclusive community for all?

    Nominations are now open for Bellevue youth for 29th annual Community Leadership Awards sponsored by Bellevue Youth Link, a youth leadership program sponsored by the City of Bellevue and Bellevue Public Schools.

    New categories are included this year to recognize and celebrate diversity of the city’s youth and diverse forms of leadership.

    Nomination forms and an award description can be downloaded at Youth Link or at City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE, through Friday, May 3. Awards will be presented ceremony on Wednesday, May 29, 6:30-8 p.m. at City Hall.

    Nominations are being accepted in the following categories:

    1. Advocacy for Cultural and Heritage Pride
    2. Advocacy for Social Justice – Individual
    3. Advocacy for Social Justice – Group
    4. Advocacy for Education
    5. Advocacy for Family Support
    6. Advocacy for Well Being (Mental Health & Wellness)
    7. Advocacy in Sports & Recreation
    8. Environmental Champion
    9. Excellence in Youth Arts
    10. Outstanding Inclusivity and Allyship
    11. Outstanding Creative and Innovative Thinker
    12. Outstanding Elementary School Student
    13. Outstanding Middle School Student
    14. Outstanding High School Student
    15. Outstanding Youth Volunteer
    16. Unsung Hero
    17. Norm Maleng Social Justice Award*
    18. Bellevue Youth Council “MVP” Award*
    19. Phil Kushlan Volunteer Award*

    *Bellevue Youth Link participation is required for these awards.
