It is illegal in Washington to spill oil on the ground or into surface water. You can dispose of it safely at oil collection sites.

If you’re one of the nearly 60 percent of Americans who change their own motor oil, or if you get your oil changed at a service station, check the important information below about recycling motor oil to help make sure your oil and oil filters are properly disposed.
