What Businesses Can Do
Area businesses can conserve in many ways, reducing employee commute trips for example. They can learn and share best practices for sustainability by participating in the Eastside Sustainable Business Alliance, formed by the City of Bellevue in the fall of 2010. ESBA is a fusion of regional businesses, small and large, achieving breakthrough success toward sustainable operations and positive community impacts.

Businesses who join ESBA enjoy a plethora of benefits, including:
- technical tools;
- idea-sharing;
- marketing opportunities;
- community building;
- events;
- roundtables;
- expert advice; and
- best practices.
ESBA plans to quantify program benefits by setting targets for number of participating businesses, hosting sustainable business challenges and creating a scorecard of achievements for participants to work toward. By creating a space for businesses to learn and share, ESBA generates communitywide conversations, reveals successful strategies and expedites advancements in the field of environmentally, socially and economically sound business practices.
ESBA meets the third Tuesday of every month, 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Bellevue City Hall (location may vary). Contact Paul Andersson if you would like more information or to be put on a mailing list.
