The Environmental Services Commission will host an open house and public meeting on Thursday, April 1, to provide an opportunity for residents to comment on Bellevue's 2011-2017 proposed Water, Sewer, and Storm and Surface Water Utility Capital Investment Program (CIP).
All of the new proposed projects are for water and sewer infrastructure needed to accommodate anticipated growth in the Bel-Red and Wilburton areas. Several miles of new water and sewer pipes would be needed, and one sewer pump station will have to be replaced with a larger one.
Timing for these projects will be coordinated with city street projects and redevelopment. Proposed project timelines are based on potential redevelopment plans, and the best available information about the timing of planned street improvements.
Project costs associated with growth will be recouped via connection charges collected from benefitted properties over time, as they connect to the system.
The open house will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE, Room 1E-112. The Environmental Services Commission will take comments at a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. during their regular session immediately following the open house.
