Storm Debris/Garbage Collection
Please do not put storm debris in the street or rights of way, where it can block storm drains and make it difficult for emergency vehicles or other vehicles to get by. Bellevue residents have several options for dealing with branches and leaves from storms.
- Set storm debris out as yard debris for collection on your normal weekly collection day. Each week you can put out one yard debris cart and up to three other approved containers (paper yard bags, 32-gallon carts marked "Yard Waste" or bundles of branches). Make sure bundles are less than two feet in diameter, four feet in length and 55 pounds. Wrap bundles with biodegradable string or twine -- NO nylon, plastic or other synthetic materials. Paper yard bags are available at hardware stores. If paper bags filled with wet debris sit a long time, the bottom can break.
- Call Republic Services (Allied Waste) (425-452-4762) and arrange for a temporary landscaping container. This option may be one that you share with your neighbors. Please check with Republic Services for charges.
- Haul materials to a local yard debris processor. Visit King County's What Do I Do With website to find a private landscape debris recycling company.
- Haul materials to the Factoria Transfer Station (debris will be disposed of as garbage) at 13800 SE 32nd St., 206-296-4466. Call for hours and costs.
Missed Garbage and Recycling
Republic Services typically does not pick up if snow or ice prevent safe navigation by trucks on neighborhood streets. If your garbage, recycling and yard debris are not collected, take materials back inside. Extra garbage, recycling and yard debris will be collected at no additional charge on the next regularly scheduled collection day (a week later). Excess materials due to missed collection can be put in a temporary container, such as a box or paper bag marked "Garbage," "Recycling" or "Yard Debris.” Customers who have questions concerning their collection should call Republic Services customer service at 425-452-4762.
