Senior citizens who want to remain active and contribute to their community have many opportunities to do so in Bellevue. Seniors are key volunteers at the Bellevue Botanical Garden and the North Bellevue Community Center. They can serve as stewards at many parks and get down in the dirt, tending the city's Waterwise Garden.

Amateur radio operators who choose to put their hobby to the civic good have joined EARS (Eastside Amateur Radio Support), prepared to serve as a crucial communications link in case of disaster. Seniors play a vital role at the Bellevue Youth Theatre and can be top mediators, helping to resolve neighbor conflicts.
