Businesses hurt by storms can file for government loans

The Emergency Preparedness Division of the Bellevue Fire Department received notification that King County has received a Small Business Administration Disaster Declaration for the December 2008 snowstorms. 

The SBA is now accepting applications for low-interest Economic Injury Disaster Loans. Small businesses that incurred snow-related losses at some point between Dec. 12 to Jan. 5 are eligible to apply. Interested parties can obtain information and apply for assistance by calling the Small Business Administration Disaster Assistance Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955 or by e-mailing Disasterdcustomerservice@sba.gov.

The filing deadline is Oct. 20, 2009. The SBA has more information. If the SBA is unable to address your questions, please contact the King County Office of Emergency Management at ecc.kc@kingcounty.gov.
